I have them in there rear only. They're very nice.
I too would steer clear of anything with the painted up glass + triangle of orange. The orange can still find a way to reflect at certain angles.

The "clear" Sylvania (or maybe GE?) lights I bought actually appeared green-ish and blue-ish. Not cool.

Dr. Henry has all those bulbs. All that is missing from the pic is the silver bulb that blinks amber for the side marker.

triangle?? wtf? Ive never painted a triangle and they still blink 100% orange. Maybe they put too much paint on, a light mist just to silver it is enough. Id say a half second burst from above and one to the sides.

are the rear tails easy to get at? i haven't tried to take mine out... i want to put these bulbs in though. i have upgraded 03+ tails, but I still have the orange bulbs in there and you can see a lot of orange just like that pic above...

i looked inside my rear trunk and noticed a weird round shaped thing that looked like a nut of some kind that would unscrew and then it looked like if i pulled on the carpet it might come off, but I dind't try it.

is this in the manual? bulb replacement? if so - just tell me to look in teh manual!

Sounds like you figured it out. The rear lights are super simple to remove. Four nuts if I remember correctly -- the weird round things you describe them.

Amberectomy in front, red and clears on the rear. The chrome bulbs work great; believe I have three and a half years use out of mine, thus far.

not to sound dumb, but this doesn't replace the amber lens right? just the amber bulb?
