P0410, P1410 and P1411

'99 Boxster w/ 41 k on the clock. I have recently been getting these codes on the CEL. Always P0410, and sometimes in combination with P1410 OR P1411, never both. I have just had the car serviced (< 300 mi.) and it runs fine, so I am thinking not MAF). Sometimes I can go 100 + mi, sometimes the CEL lgos off just a few miles after reset. Last time I "thought" maybe the air pump was not running but I am not positive. Any advice?

Thanks,

J. Tucker

And another question...

I cracked the engine compartment open...everything looks ok, when I started the engine the air pump is definitely not coming on. But the engine is not bone cold either. Anyone know how cold the engine need to be for this to operate?

Thanks,

Although this is an old question I wanted to post a reply just in case someone comes across this question letter on through a search. The air pump will only run on a cold start for about 30-45 seconds. Here's some great instructions to go through the different problems it could possibly be:

Does anyone happen to know the vacuum value needed for the cut-off valve to open?

Hi all,

I'm troubleshooting a P0410/P1411 code on my 1999 986, and the troubleshooting instructions are great.

One question - does anyone know the vacuum value that the cut-off valve should operate at?

I've confirmed that the pump is running when it gets voltage, and the valve operates with about 10 in Hg on my vacuum gauge. However, when I cold-start the car, I'm only reading about 3 in Hg in the vacuum line to it.

Maybe my valve is not operating 'easily' enough? Any ideas? My next step is the electric solenoid, but it looks like I'll need a trained octopus to get to it.

Thanks,
-Michael
