Can anyone tell me what type of paint to use and what prep work needs to be done beforehand?

as for the prep. i just sanded them down, but not all the way so its smooth, as i liked the textured look that those pieces have, then washed them, cleaned with rubbing alcohol, then sprayed with t229 metallic silver, about 6 coats or so, then 2-3 light coats of clear coat, then when it was dry i sanded it down a little as well with 2000 grit sandpaper tog et rid of some orange peel, but there was actually none there so its all good.

DJ I tend to be boring, so with that said I think it looks good as is. Your dash has a flow, the gauge rings tie into the console. The vents I think would just standout to much imo. Great work with the painting, looks great!

If my pieces were in good condition, I would probably not have done so much work but I bought my car used. The trim pieces have that slightly rubber film surface that was getting scuffed up pretty bad so it look like a lot of wear and tear.

I had some surface scratches and some gouges so I sanded it down to smooth. But I actually think I like your trim just the way it is. Nice to use it as an accent than to completely make it all metallic silver if it were up to me. I wish I had a bit more black in my car, perhaps some black seats to strike a balance.

Picture says it all. Had it painted at delivery by dealer. So no info on how to parts come off and were painted
