We have a set 3km tollerance!!!!!!!
eg. your doing 64kph in a 60kph (take 3kph off and you are doing 61kph) zone.......$135 fine and 1 demerit point! or 79kph in a 60kph zone......$260 fine and 3 demerit points. You only get upto 12 points in a 3 year period. Rack-up 12 points in that period, good bye license!
2. We have fixed
SPEED & RED LIGHT Cameras at every major intersection and most other intersections. All our freeways have fixed cameras, and now timed cameras! (time of travel between two points over distance = velocity)
It is pure revenue raising for the government, it's got nothing to do with safety when they ping you at 3kph over the limit........ but I do agree with tougher panalties for street racers!
Oh, and forgot to mention.....we drive on the wrong side here!
