Alternative to Schnell or B & M?

I've read lots of discussions about the differences between these two brands, each has their fans, neither seems to be a concensus pick. But, does anyone have any experience with any of the non-branded short shifters that I see occasionally offered for sale? Has anyone purchased one of these less-expensive "generic" shifters, and if so, how did it work out for you?

People have found a good knock off on Ebay for a fraction of the cost of the B&M shifter, and say it works great. I have not looked into a short shift kit yet, but I'll probably go with the ebay one.

I bought mine recently for only $26.00 on e-bay. It IS A B&M clone. I'm not sure how these knock offs don't get sued, but mine is no different other than the anodiozed color of the metal not being the signature B&M blue. So if you don't like B&M you won't like the ones sold on e-bay. They are EXACTLY THE SAME, only at a fraction of the cost. I love mine. I also paired it up wiht the Schnell Shift Linkage just to be safe and since the area being installed was exposing the shift linkage. There aren't many other options other than the Schnell and factory O.E.M. Porsche short shifter. But I believe EVO now makes their own short shifter also. Theirs too is an exact clone of the B&M only in black instead of blue.
