Getting a new alarm...

My question is, are there any special features with the stock alarm I should let the installation shop know before they install my new alarm? My old one is dead. I use the key to unlock/lock the doors now. I'm getting a Viper 5000 to replace it. Anyone else have a non-stock alarm that they had to disable first? Thanks in advance!

Seeing that you're in Bay Area, I suggest that you shy away from the Car Stereo Company on 4646 El Camino Real. I ended up getting my after-market alarm (AutoPage) there, and I have to tell you that I've NEVER been treated as badly, (could've written a screenplay about it, but now I just wanna forget about how stupid I was to let them work on my car... and even payed for it).

If you're getting an after-market alarm, I suggest you get this one:
