Many Questions Re Boxster S, Side Skirts, Headers & Exhaust.

Hey guys,

Great forum! My first post here, just wanting to get some advice on side skirts choices and other mods.

This is my car. MY00 Boxster S. Ocean blue with factory sport design 18" wheels. De-snorkeled. Exhaust and chip to come.

Im thinking of getting these TA sport side skirts

Has anyone bought from these guys before? How was the quality and fitment?

Do you think they would suit a GT3 front bumper bar?

Which company in the US makes good headers at a reasonable price? (whos willing to ship overseas)

I can get Milltek products in Australia, do they make a good muffler for the 986?

No experience with this vendor but both cars look pretty great to me.

Good luck!

Thanks. Where do you guys usually get bodykits from? I'm in Australia and aftermarket resources are quite limited here.

Dont know if ebay USA is a good place to source these parts.

They look like the Aerokit II side skirts.

I thought they look very similar to Ruf skirts. Anyways, what do you guys think of this compared to the ebay side skirts? A bit bland in comparison?

Those are actually Aerokit 1 sideskirts. The version 2 is more flared. Here is the aerokit 2 sideskirt:

would you take those TA side skirts over what Porsche offers? or do you think they are too dramatic?

The TAs look really nice with a modded front bumper cover as is the case within your examples. I think they may be a bit much if you plan on keeping your stock bumper. The Aerokit 1 or 2 looks great with the stock front in place.

1. nice car
2. I'd stick with OEM skirting from Porsche, unless you are buying directly from Tech Art. I'd avoid buying fiberglass from not very well known aftermarket sellers.
My MK2 skirting is from one of these shops that hand make the skirting and the fit is not perfect but not bad enough to send back for a refund.
The OEM stuff is a perfect fit 100% of the time because it's lazer cut and comes from one mould. The fiberglass stuff is hit or miss. And being in Australia I'm not sure I would take the risk with a small company.

If I were you I'd get the GT3 front bumper and add OEM side skirts. Or talk to Tech Art or one of their local authorized reps.
