wind blocker safe to what speed?
The clear rear wind blocker began to shake and rattle at around 100mph enough I feared it might fly off. Talk about party pooper :(
Anyone know to what speed they are good for, or for those who've lost them at approx. what speed do they go sailing? Any thoughts of better securing them? I like driving unencumbered  |
Ive gone 120+ on the track with mine being fine. Most who loose them loose them at like 70 mph. So its either on there good, or bad. I would suggest a dot of super glue on each corner and the bottom. That way its in there all summer for good, but you can still pop it off with a little effort. Then again... ive gone faster... but the top was up :p so in theory its good to infinty mph

Mine was good at 125mph

Over 120+ at same track here in the East Coast. The windstop will not pop out even though it looks like it is about to. As long as it is put in right, and your clips are not broken, it will stay in place because the wind rush is pushing from back to front on the windstop at speed.

It should stay in securely, I have heard of a few people who drilled a whole through the lower corner and ziptied it to the roll bar.

Don't worry
I've done 250 km/h in topless mode with my BoxsterS (full trottle @ redline in 5th gear, 6th gear won't help you much when driving topless at those speeds) multiple times. No problems

The few I have heard about coming off, were because of broken latches, that didn't keep it in place.
