Front hood on 986 and 996

Hi... I did a search on this but couldn't find the answer.

I am pretty sure the answer is "yes," but if I buy a 996 OEM hood will it fit on my 986 without any modification?

Just making sure before I buy a 996 hood. My 986 hood has a dent that I can't wait to get rid of (PDR cannot fix).

Thanks...

Yes, same hood.

The following post isn't quite a discussion of hoods, but it does talk about front end reconstruction:

I like to call them "trunklids" since, well, one usually associates an engine or motor under a "hood"

Or they could be called a front decklid or a bonnet if you're british.

Check the two part numbers. If they are the same (which they are I believe) they numbers will be identical.

Garage
I love when people ask me what is under my (cars) hood, and I say nothing.
It always gets them.
