Dude, you didn't need to start another thread! 
As before... these have been on Ebay for quite a while, at that price even! You're just seeing something that a lot of us already knew.
BTW, I'll likely be buying one of those tops from that seller in a couple months. My top is tired looking, and the rear window cracked in a couple places...

Me too! I was just hoping our sponsor may see the price and come down on his a little. Now I can actually afford to replace mine.

If these prices keep dropping I may have to get a new top soon.(wink wink)
Does anyone know how much install should run on these? Can you still access the engine bay with the glass top?

I charge $410.00 to install top. I will sell robbins or gahh tops @ $150.00 above cost plus shipping including tips on how to install. 862-222-4618

yea im down to buy it too, the only problem is, i heard for the change, we needed to get the hardtop converter kit setup for the glass top to work. I don't get it??

Are you sure about that? I think it just requires the wiring for the defroster's to work properley. That may also be why you need the hardtop converter kit, but I think most later model year boxsters(01-04) came ready for the defrost set-up as an option.

These glass window tops are a direct replacement for the plastic window tops. The ONLY thing that needs to be done is the removal and transplant of a couple aluminum plates at the front of the top.
If you want the defroster to work, there is a little wiring to be done. These tops come with the wiring harness, so it shouldn't be difficult.
I'm kicking around the idea of replacing the top myself... but I'm still wondering if it's too much to chew...

I bought a top from that vendor
drove out to his location and saved the shipping. The top is a Robbins top with the wiring harness for defroster, no big deal to hook up. Did the install myself, about 1hr to remove old top and about 5hrs to reinstall the new top. Now that I'm used to the smaller window the large plastic one looks "Very Big". There is a writeup somewhere online for top install and the top comes with sufficient instructions for handy persons.

Is there any way you can scan the directions that came with the top? I emailed Robbins, but they never responded. The DIY on Mike Focke's page was one that I got from a gentleman on Pelican Parts, IIRC. It's good, but I'd like to see the Robbin's directions. I MIGHT be trying to install one of these tops on my car in a couple months.

on a scale 1-10, what would you rate installing thi top youself, since you said you did it in 5hrs.
is it hard to do, or jsut time consuming to take 5 hrs?
