Reprogramming door locks-

Recently got a certified 03 Box S, love everything except that the doors lock automatically. Called the dealer and was told it would be $55 to turn this off. Anyone know of a workaround? TIA.

I once had a car that didn't lock automatically. I forgot to arm the remote came back and the car was gone. Got it back a week later without wheels, brakes, radio, etc..they even pryed off the weather stripping.

My doors automatically lock... IF.. I hit the unlock button on the key, and don't open a door in ~30 seconds.

I would rather it be that way. They do not automatically lock any other time, though.

Maybe he's talking about the automatic lock on drive-off. If that bugs you (I don't know why that would bug you), you can override that by pushing the lit red LED side of the door lock switch to overide that and unlock the doors for the remainder of your trip.

3 options explained in the Owner's Manual

But it takes a PST2 to select the one you want. I personally wanted the "lock at 5mph" one and while I was there, the dealer set it (was having some other work done so the PST2 was already connected.)
