Car looks great. Is your license plate really just "1"?

Can you post a pic of your instrument dials?

r9i8c7k 06-14-2007 06:47 AM

Great looking car...best of luck.

BoxsterBob - CA 06-14-2007 07:24 AM

Looks great! Are there many Boxsters in Visakhapatnam?

djomlas 06-14-2007 07:27 AM

nice pics, i like them, car looks great.
i saw a 986 in black like that the other day and it had a porsche logo on top of the boxster badge as well..

btw, whats that thing ganging off of the front plate?

humara 06-14-2007 07:57 AM

your car looks great!
the extra porsche badge in the back though, looks not so great. why add another badge? and why there?

rick3000 06-14-2007 08:26 AM

That looks really cool, but I agree why add the second badge on the back?

Perfectlap 06-14-2007 08:42 AM

how much is a BoxsterS in India?

Rs 47 lakh and if my calculations are correct, that's ~$115k US$ - after a 112% import duty!

Choose options carefully! :D

rick3000 06-14-2007 09:22 AM

Where did you get $155k from, the base car is $55k, so if you add the 112% import duty, thats $61,600 + shipping and other charges.
So maybe $70k total which would be 2,844,141.069 Rs

Huh?

112% of $55000 is $61600

$ 55000 - Base
$ 61600 - Duty
----------
$116600

Agreed, the Porsche badge on the rear looks tacky.

porscheracer 06-14-2007 10:04 AM

Sweet sweet ride but having a Porsche crest in the rear trunk is redundant. The Boxster S will suffice.

rick3000 06-14-2007 10:12 AM

Oh, sorry I thought it was the base price plus 12% not the price plus 112%. And the 155K was a typo. That is ridiculously high to import a car. Just high a drug dealer to smuggle the car into India for you.

I didn't get $155k, I got $115k from this 2004 Hindu Business Line article, listing the price at Rs 47 lakh for the 'S'. Plug that into a curency converter and you get:

4,700,000 Indian Rupee = 114,704 US Dollar

Perfectlap 06-14-2007 11:38 AM

That's allot of Rupeeees.

I guess you are considered a billionaire driving around in those kind of wheels in a country where so many will never have any car let alone one most Americans will never own.

The Badge on the rear is something I have never seen before. It's not so bad but maybe by itself would be better.

BoxsterBob - CA 06-14-2007 12:06 PM

With driving conditions like these, I don't think mine would ever leave the driveway: Driving in India

unklekraker 06-14-2007 12:31 PM

that's one crazy intersection and I have to agree with Bob :)

I give them props though...they got skills :D

super66 06-14-2007 08:12 PM

holy cow that video is a fricking riot!!!!!!!! but I got bad news for you guys, that's not India, its actually downtown Chicago :D

okay first thing I thought was wow, another picture of the back of the car :D

seriously it looks great, I want to see the gauges tho....also not a fan of the seconfd badge on the trunk....but sweet ride....awwww to one day own an S.....
