Interesting. I have seen this rule applied for TRACK events, but NEVER for an autocross event.

Also, check ebay or local PCA regions mart sections. I picked up a used one for $350.

It also sounds to me like an extension bar alone wouldn't be enough for you. To get lower you need to modify your seat or put in an aftermarket seat.

As for thread topic, great to see someone else come out an enjoy anutocrossing

Hi Gerry,

in hindsight I probably shouldn't have you made feel so comfortable you beat me and some other guys by MORE THAN A SECOND!
No kidding, great job at your first auto-cross, I guess I'll see you at the next one...

Cheers

Chris,

Seriously, did uk beat you on his first Autocross by more than a second ? Even though you have an S and 15 events under your belt ? Great job, Gerry !

How was the tip ? Did you let it do it's thing or did you control the shift points ?

Here's a pic for 986 Girl

Nick

I have recently found that if I can get a ride with someone before I go out to do my first run, I do a lot better. One of the more experienced guys that comes out to all of the events (and chooses the morning of the event which car he wants to drive, Evo, Elise or Z06), has taken me under his wing and always lets me ride with him when our groups are aligned correctly. Getting out there and feeling someone else really push it helps get my adreneline going and gets me to push it harder when I first go out.

My biggest suggestion is GET RIDES WITH PEOPLE!!

yap, that's what my instructor did, kinda...He first let me drive my car with him so He could see on how do I react on before and after turns- then after that first run, he drove and Im the passenger...he show me how it's done, how safe it is and he helps me build my confidence

after that, while waiting for my first time driving solo, he gave me pointers between our drive

and that's is so true, 986girl...I would suggest riding shotgun with the instructor if it's your first time...I left my pride and ego at the gate
