You should go ahead and clean the MAF before you reset the CEL. Yes, use the CRC MAF cleaner that you can get at AutoZone or Pep Boys. I took out the MAF and cleaned last week as I always do for standard maintenance not because I had a CEL. Yes, you need the security Torx 20 bit. Just pull out the MAF slowly. If you are adventurous like me, you should also clean the air intake throttle body but the rubber/plastic boot attached is a pain to remove and install. I find it easier with 2 person...one person to push/pull the boot and the other person to wiggle slowly from the passenger side. Keep us posted.
