Intake Grill? Photoshop?

What do you think of this style of (side) intake grill ?
If you like it, do you like it enough to buy it? and how much would you pay?
I'm working with a manufacturer on an unrelated product and noticed they have the capability of producing something like this for the Boxster, both 987 and 986 and presumably Cayman.
Photoshop anyone?

Hi,

I believe the intake grill is behind the driver's door
But the front bumper looks absolutely spectacular (I like the LED lights integrated)

I think it would look pretty cool, particularly on the new designs (987 and Cayman)

you mean that 'style' or do you mean having to cut away at the car to fit that size into it?
kinda confusing, or at least to me...

isnt that kinda similar to techart ones?
like this kinda?

Those are okay looking, but I wonder how functional they really are?

I like it. But not sure if I like it enough to swap out my current intake vent. I'd have to see a better picture of it. A close-up and how it looks on the whole car.

I was thinking that style with a horizontal piece, looks very good on the 997 Turbo. And with a larger border at the bottom to give the appearnace that the intake is larger than it acutally is.

The current 986 style in black looks unfinished to me, and the painted ones on the 03-04's look kind of meek. A bit too small against the pronounced flare of the fenders. THe shape could be more fluid, i think the stock intake is the most 'square' element on the exterior of the car.

yeah man, now that you mention it, when looking at that pic, the intake is very small, yet it appears prettty darn big. kinda neat

btw, do you think those can be retrofitted to a box? well obviously some cutting would be needed.

no I don't think cutting would be the way to go. I think having the plastic simply cover more of the rear quarter panel, specifically under the intake, to "fake" the appearace of a larger opening.
I'm not saying it should be as huge as it is on 997 Turbo but it could be much bigger, more curvy, fluid, etc.

The 987 needs work too, I think they need more than just a Cayman swap as an alternative...But holy how are these moulds expensive to make. I see why fiberglass is so common.
