Question What's the epected lifetime of hoses.

How long do you leave your hoses in before, preventive measures make sense to replace? I just my coolant check/flush and all hoses and conections seem adequate on my 02 with 52K. I know years ago hoses were the weak link of the coolant system, followed by pumps and thermostat.

Hi,

Gates Rubber Co. (a leader in automotive hoses and belts) recommends changing hoses every 5 yrs. This is ideal because this is also, or should be, your Coolant Change interval as well. Also, Porsche recommends swapping their ********************ty Spring Clamps for proper SS Worm Clamps (screw type), so plan on this as well.

The Car won't blow-up if you don't, but that's not the nature of Preventive Maintenance...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

Smile thanks! Bad news for anyone whose arms are less than 80 in.

I guess if anyone would know, Gates would. Anyone know how difficult this would be.?? Just visibely following the hose routing it seems like you would have to have the arms of an octapus to get at them.
