Are 996 and 986 headlights the same?


Porsche 2000 996 right head light with clear corner light, will fit years '99-02

Be careful. In 01 or 02, the 996 headlights changed to a different design to further differentiate the 911 from the Boxster. Don't buy headlights from an 01+ 996 thinking that it will fit your Boxster.

OH SHIZZZZZ! That nearly triples my search for new headlights! I've been looking for only Boxsters or 986s. Haha!

It was in 02 that they changed. You're safe with 01.

my car will very soon look similar. i should have it back end of this week/beginning of next week. only took a shade over a month but, hello turbo front end!

Did you know there is a textural difference between the Turbo headlights and Carrera headlights? Do you know which ones you got?

Also, are you having your washer function utilized?

I look forward to seeing the end result! BTW, make sure the headlights are aimed properly... once they're installed, you have to remove them to align them, which can be annoying.
