DJ,

I actually don't mind it.....it's different! ;)

djomlas 05-02-2007 03:31 PM

for some reason in pics the stripe looks pretty big.
heres a quick pic of it up close (dirty can and wheels, but you get the point)

Of course I see the calipers, I just meant that isn't what you notice when you look at the car (some might) but calipers, IMO, are anonymous enough where they don't affect the overall appearance of the car.

I hope you like it. At least it's reversible, right? No commitment :)

djomlas 05-02-2007 05:12 PM

yes, its reversible, its vinyl tape pretty much, but its very thin.

im still confused how u cant not notice big red shiny red brakes behind a black wheel, it should pretty much pop out at you. at least thats what i see as soon as i see the wheel, not just mine, but just ingeneral

markab986 05-02-2007 05:33 PM

Your car/wheel looks great together!

But, honestly it looks too much like the old bias belted red wall tires of years gone by (even though its on the rim)

If this is the "new" style...well, I'm going have to sit on the fence.

Bavarian Motorist 05-02-2007 05:34 PM

I am looking at the appearance as a whole. By itself, the wheel looks good, but when you look at it on the whole car, it's not as prominent. (the calipers)

SEA GREEN STRIPES.

djomlas 05-02-2007 05:51 PM

heres a photoshop of that
i actually dont care for that look at all

I actually kind of like it with the red even though I don't really like black wheels. Then again maybe it's a flashback to my hotwheels days. Stick with it for a while to see if you like it.

LOL, the funny thing is that with the green stripes, the red calipers really do stand out.

Keep it till you get tired of it, I suppose. I don't have a better solution.

Chills 05-03-2007 05:00 AM

I agree with BM here. The green stripe makes the calipers stand out more and it compliments your car. The red stripe just doesn't go well with the car.

You don't have to go and paint everything the same color, but black and your green go well together. Red and your green just don't.

Gotta say, looks great with the green pin stripe, not so good with the red...

IMHO,

Nick

The black wheels remind me of police cars from years past that had simple black steel rims because the local governments didn't want to spend the money for hubcaps. OR someone had a flat and put their spare on. It just looks cheap in a Nascar kind of way.

But if you like them, then that's all that matters.

It looks good, really. Maybe you could also echo the red for the air-intake grills..?

You kidding, right? :barf:

Rodger 05-03-2007 01:45 PM

My preferences, in order:

#1: No stripes
#2: Green stripes

Sorry, but red stripes just don't match the car.

If I were to do mine, I'd go black with no stripes.

No, I actually think it looks good. And it might even work with echoing the red somewhere. But of course, most of us have different taste.

djomlas 05-03-2007 06:30 PM

maybe its pics as well.
i told my buddy that i painted them and showed him pics, he didnt like it,.
then i came over and he saw them in real life w the stripes, he was flipping out.
o well...
but you know, your car so do whatever you want. so yea...

i think it would have been way more controversial if i painted the wheels themselves some ridiculous color or something like that, but the stripe can be removed if i get tired of it. :)

MNBoxster 05-03-2007 06:32 PM

Hi,

No need to justify - you like them, so ENJOY!...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

That's why some of us are ART DIRECTORS and others are NOT. ;)
