30k service in Arizona

It's that time....hit 30,000 miles on my '02 S the other day. My local guy that has worked on my BMW's for years has quooted me $300, while Porsche North Scottsdale has quoted me $850. Something doesn't sound right here and from researching the issue my local service guy is way out of whack.

Has anyone had a positive expirience with an independant in either Phoenix, Prescott or Flagstaff?

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes,

We use:
Don Jackson Enterprise
1931 West North Lane
Phoenix, AZ 85021

Open Tues to Friday
602-997-2785

This is a 2 brother shop with years of Porsche experience.
Coming from Prescott Valley down I-17 get off at Peoria and go East to 19th Ave. Turn right (south) on 19th, first street on right will be North Lane - you
will see them on the left side (past the BIG boat place).

Call for an appnt. about a week before.
D.J. and John are very good at what they do and super nice people!

If you need any help, email me.

Ed

Don't quibble so much in NY Long Island the 30K I was quoted $1,500. I take the $ 850 in a heartbeat.

Did it myself for about $140 in parts.

Oil and Filter
Cabin Filter
Air Filter
Six spark plugs

Checked the whole car for loose items, cracked hoses and filters.

Four hours of my time (I'm not a mechanic).

It's not the $850 that bugs me, it's what I'm getting for it. NOT MUCH

Regards

The BMW dude is probably quoting the oil/lube, plugs, filters, brake flush, but not the laundry list of checks and inspections that go along with a "major" maintenance.
Either that or he's working awfully cheap.
