Reply from the EBay guy...

This is what I asked him.

Have you had any issues about cracking or coming apart at the base where the wing mounts to the two arms? This was brought up in my porsche forum and I was warned not to buy this, but the price is right so I thought I'd ask. Also does it come with instructions? And do you have the color lapis blue that my 2001 boxster comes in?

Here's his reply. Sounds too good to be true eh? $275 for a painted/supposedly non-problematic spoiler. Hmmm...

No more problems, we had this issue corrected 3 Months ago, Install Kit comes with Easy instructions, and special allen Wrench.

I do have Lapis Blue Available.

I also just had the Same Wing done in real CARBON FIBER, see my other ads. Boxster Wing Carbon Fiber

Regards.....Omar Fernandez

If it's any consolation, I've dealt with Omar on some other parts. His parts are good and his paint work is excellent. If he says he solved the problem, he probably has.

I wouldn't worry about the aerodynamics.

If it's good enough for the Caymen S, it's good enough for me:

The Cayman has aaerodynamics going on with its roof line and rear end mini-ducktail as seen with the spoiler up.

Comparing a boxster to a Cayman aerodynamically is not an apples to apples comparison just because the platforms are similar and one is a hardtop and the other a convertible.

I realize that. I'm just saying that for average street driving they can be considered similar (note, not the same, but similar) air flow wise. It's not going to throw off the balance of the entire car to the point where it's unsafe or hard to drive as it might swapping in a...oh, I don't know, STI wing. Granted, that's still far fetched, but you get what I'm saying.
