Cheaper cars and there owners pride

I stumbled upon a thread in my buddys forum for Acura RSX's. Great car by the way after my friend modded his.

But this thread I found in the forum bothers me, Im no psychologist but i can already see a pattern/method as to how these RSX owners selected what they call "Top 10 Douchebag Cars"... THank god the Boxster isnt in the list.

For anyone who doesnt see the pattern, its simply that all the vehicles selected are either more expensive, beautiful, powerful, faster and desirable in more ways than the RSX.

Bugs me that people derate a vehicle for reasons as dumb as they thought of, especially when you can read between the lines and can tell its probably jealously... Personally i also think its a copping mechanizim for the buyers remorse of the purchase of the RSX.

I dont think we have ever done this on our forum and im glad.

BTW, i sorta agree with number 5.

wait wait....

no. 4 may be on to something :D

Kind of ironic that he says's the Neon is #1 douchebag car that was so bad that Dodge "axed it" as the Acura has axed the RSX.
What happens to CLUB RSX now that their car is defunct?

and what exactly is the slang meaning of "douche bag"? is this a colorful word for boy racer?
p.s.
STI and EVO are great rally cars. DOn't know if they make the ideal daily driver with all that exahust racket.

Im not sure what the word means, could be a bag of douche or douche the size of a bag???? I remember saying that people who pronouce porsche as "Pors-che" then look around to see who noticed his grammar is a Douche bag.

Yes i agree, EVo and STi are great rally cars and the RSX would never be able to hold up against any of those in a rally.

Yeah they are stoping the RSX to make a 2-door TSX lol.

boggtown 04-24-2007 11:38 AM

Meh.. ranting probably prevented him from going all virginia tech on someone. No harm, just being a douche, lol.

What's up with that?
The guy couldn't come up with a good anti-Porsche rant?
Jeez, I could come up with several just off the top of my head.

Maybe there are so many Boxsters around anymore that we are no longer worth hating.

Brucelee 04-24-2007 11:43 AM

It is a small man who tries to cut other down to his size!

Yes, or the boxster trys to pretend to be a true mid engine race car but its not... but they made the cayman so i have to shutup now... douches!

or the douches that drive boxsters steal all the ladys during happy hour at Chili's from us RSX drivers.

986 Girl 04-24-2007 11:47 AM

Douchbag is just a new way to say jerk, really.

And almost every car owner that bothers to visit and participate on a forum dedicated to their car has a great deal of pride re: their car. Everyone will have their own feelings about other cars, whether they are more expensive or not. Just opinions, not worldly truths.

Imagine the dumb stuff they would make up about the boxster if they found out about our thread about there thread LOL good thing we have a secret weapon... MNboxster! lol

unklekraker 04-24-2007 12:25 PM

dude...thats is so freaking funny...hahahahahaha! but i don't know if MN Boxster would take that :D

blinkwatt 04-24-2007 01:23 PM

People only bash what they are jealous of,simple as that. Any moment you make it personal, labeling something or someone, you already lost.

djomlas 04-24-2007 01:31 PM

that guy is an idiot.
come to think of it, i would take most of those cars over an RSX :D :D

FrayAdjacent 04-24-2007 02:07 PM

I'm just surprised that the guy USED and even correctly SPELLED the word 'bourgeois' when describing the Mustang.

All in all, kinda funny... kinda moronic.

I do agree about the SRT-4. That car is proof of one thing: You can't polish a turd, but apparently, you can make it go real fast!

He stole that list from elsewhere. If you look at his other posts in the thread, he can't string three words together without misspelling at least one of them.

I'm not sure how you can call the Mustang Cobra bourgeois and not realize that the RSX doesn't even reach the level of proletariat.

Franco 04-24-2007 02:56 PM

HI Guys and Gal's, the reason the Boxster didn't make the list is because it's a girly car :p and how do you make fun of a females manhood

Can we call a girl a Douche bag

Have you every seen Mellisa Ethridge?

I am afraid of her!

:D

Travis 04-24-2007 03:39 PM

Forget the list, what about those lime green rims

velvet_jones 04-24-2007 03:46 PM

I must be the ultimate douchebag. I had an SRT-4 and my Bro had an RSX S Type. He drove it and almost went out and got one. Wifey said NO! Needless to say it smoked his RSX all day long! Though it was a fun car to drive. Handled well.

super66 04-24-2007 04:27 PM

you're right Franco, those dudes definitely have better avatars or whatever they are than we do!

blinkwatt 04-24-2007 05:09 PM

I bet there is a reason they don't show her face.

boggtown 04-24-2007 07:17 PM

There was this kid in an srt-4 trying to race me, I played around with him by revving my engine some and taking off on him, but his car sounded like ********************. Like it had a cold. Itd go fafafafaffa like a shivering, and when hed get on it it'd go kasheeeeesh just like a sneeze. He put a horrible ebay exhaust on that made me want to piss my pants laughing.
Oh ya, you guys are saying how they are dumb and can't spell, the title of this thread is wrong, lol.
Green rims... unless your in san francisco that won't be cool....
Better avatars, yes, their site has a childish mindset for a younger audience. I bet if 98% of boxsters were owned by under 24 y/o's this site would be MAJORLY different. More liberal, but it would lack the education normal human beings.

Slashmatt 04-24-2007 07:39 PM

Toché

According to the RSX forum post (douchebag == "anyone that has a better car than mine")

So, I'm going to say that my top 10 douchebag cars are...

1. Porsche Carrera GT: You've got to be a serious douchebag to drive a car this great.

2. Pagani Zonda F: 2600 lbs, mid-engine NA AMG V12, Italian style - total douche-mobile

3. Ferrari F430: Please, let me hold that bag to your crotch ma'am

4. Koenigsegg CCXR : C'Mon, it's got a Ford block, douche-arama*

5. Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggara : 4wd, that douchbag can drive when the road is frozen!

(actually, at this point I started to run out of cars I like more than the Boxster S, but I'll still try to keep it funny)

6. 2007 Corvette Z06 : Bah, only a total douche would drive a car with push-rods

7. '03 Camaro SS : (Had to take one from their list) They're right, cars that can affordably be set up to run 10's in the 1/4 mile are only run by the stingiest of douchebags

8. Spec Miata: For the dochebag that wasn't born with a silver paddle shifter in his hand.

9. Damn, I'm going to have to include a 986 S because I can't think of any more cars that I respect enough to poke fun at.

10. BMW E46 M3 : I'd feel bad if I left it out of any list of douchbag cars, even one that isn't for actual douchebag cars.

*note: the CCXR actually uses a custom block based on a Ford block

Bavarian Motorist 04-24-2007 07:45 PM

I definitely think Boxsters should be on the list for the simple fact that I drive one.

amen...

I was at a stop light the other day in not the greatest of downtowns, an old man was crossing the street and he had that typical grim look on his face of elderly people who are choosing between medicine and a hot dog for dinner. He looked over at me and looked at the car and shot me a smile and gave me a nod of the head.
C'mon guys be nice like the old guy!

You're right about that... the car I traded in on the Boxster was a Hyundai Tiburon... and the site I frequented was loaded with kids in their teens and early twenties. Definitely a lower level of maturity there than here, PPBB or Renntech.

Although it wasnt mean as a "Flame" and more of a humorous way to help the other forum member participate in the comedy, but point taken and note to self....(member more sensitive than I thought) So ill makesure I think some more about my posts before posting them. Thanks! :)

Hi,

I think this thread is useless… (note to self – people who know less about Cars than Bill Clinton knows about celibacy, are probably more comfortable in a low-ridin’ Monte Carlo than a Boxster, and who’s Cultural History celebrates beating the French (of all things) are generally an insensitive lot who’ll insult you in a thread in which you are not even a participant simply to ShowBoat to gain admiration and affirmation from the Herd one minute and then PM you for car advice the next – sorry No Habla) - IGNORE…

Happy Motoring!... Jim’99

I keep telling you, it wasnt meant as an insult. You can take it anyway you want. Its fine Jim... have the last word, I probably wouldnt want to converse with someone to throws a punch then runs away, ie:(sorry No Habla) - IGNORE…)
