new here

Hi, I'm new here. I've been reading all your posts for a couple of weeks now and it seems like I've found a good forum with lots of interesting people who know stuff.

Here is the 1st photo of my 1st boxster. Have had it 3wks now.

It's a '99 Arctic Silver w/Boxster Red, full leather, CD cngr, DSP, Tip-Tronic w/65k mls.
This car is nicer, cleaner, sweeter than any I have ever had, even the new ones off the showroom floor. ( Oh wait, the wife got all the new cars! I got the used ones and so it continues.) Got this one at huge dealer auction out in Riverside under 17k, was about 7th one I had bid on. Was not leaving without one!

Thats the facts for now going to go wash it again and then drive it to work (indoor
parking!) too bad its only a 20min trip!! Trip home will be a bit more round about.

Later

Welcome fellow Los Angeles Boxster owner. You'll enjoy this forum alot. Afew things to remember, Use the search, check your spelling and take care of your plastic window on your convertible top by giving it the karate chop to insure it folds correctly, they can shatter like a plastic dixie cup during the cold los angeles nite when its 55 degrees outside if they dont fold correctly.

Do a search for "Chop" and you will eventually find a picture of where the chop should happen. This advice will save your $600 atleast if you choose to follow it.

Great color, wait a minute, that is the same color as my car.... I had the same experience as you seem to have had when I got my car. I had never owned a car that cost above 20K when the car was new. The Boxster had a build quality I had never experienced, and then there's the way it hugs the road.... enjoy the ride,

Ed

Welcome Rockbox.

I've always loved the silver/red combo. It is classic Porsche to me. I went for the black interior because I couldn't find one I liked w/red interior I could personally inspect.

Probably due to lack of patience.
