Jay Senoff's Custom Windscreens...question...

FROM THE WEBSITE:

"Porsche did a great job in providing a windscreen for their car. However they goofed when they installed the plastic inserts in the roll bars.

The holes in the inserts cause wind to whistle through making the car noisy and not letting the windscreen do a good job in keeping you and your passenger comfortable.

My “Lexan” inserts solve the problem by cutting off all wind from rushing through the grills. Installation takes only seconds and all you need is a Phillips screwdriver. No holes to drill, nothing to remove from the car."

Did Porsche change the 2007 Boxster, or will these windscreens still work on the 2007 model???

Thanks,
Michael

No change to the roll bars and they'll fit...

terryg8 posted an excellent and comprehensive review (albeit less than favorable) of the product on ppbb. This was the pic he posted of the windscreen installed on a 987.

I think they probably would it you're on the freeway and experience a strong head wind or strong side wind. You could have them mounted permanetly with maybe something like crazy glue on the tabs.

I have no problem with the inserts....I used some rubber padding between the tabs and the rollbars and used black zip ties to keep them tight so they dont rattle....however... the center section rattles and it drives me nuts! Anyone have a permanent fix for this?

Hi,

If you searched the archives, you'd see there are a number of fixes. I used double-sided Foam Tape which not only insulates the pieces from vibrating, but also wedges them into place. Others have used reportedly equally effective methods - cruise the archives and discover...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
