Question Removing the Airbag Deactivation Bar

Hey crew, I wanted to see if anyone could give me some information about removing the airbag deactivation bar from my 2001 Boxster. I am thinking about selling/trading the car (a new baby is on the way) and hate to let the bar go with the car when I could sell the bar and seat on the forum /ebay/ etc.

How easy is this to do and how do you do it?

Thanks

Doug

FWIW, my Porsche dealer told me that unless a child seat is purchased directly from their dealership, they won't do the installation for free, and it's 1 1/2 hours of labor, which is $175 at my particular dealer (Scottsdale Porsche). A new Porsche Plus seat at my dealer is $460, with free installation.

From what I know, you just remove the deactivation bar, and then go to the dealer or any shop with a PST2 or PIWIS tester change the airbag setting.
