In fairness to the seller, they seem to have a fairly reputable "presence" and in the ad they offer installation services.http://www.orbitracing.com/

i'm assuming it's not the 's'. can't imagine someone would go through the expense of replacing a new 300HP motor with a new 325HP or 355HP motor.

Will it fit in a 2001 Boxster?

I think I could/should get this item. I've got 50K on my motor now, but probably will be at 100K in a year. Hmmm...

No, it won't. The DME on the 2001 is the 7.2 model. 03 + runs the 7.8 DME. Basically, you'd need to change the DME too. Even the 03/04 boxsters DME differ from the 05+ dme's and changes need to be made. You'd be better off swapping in an 2000-2002 3.2L S engine in to a base 2001.

Hi,

I do - the '01 models used Bosch Motronic version 7.2 while the later models use Bosch Motronic version 7.8. You'd need to add a $3k DME to your Parts List...

So I take it that the e-gas DME can't be flash updated?

My guess is no. I don't think the 2001 DME will even run the '03 engines which have a revised VarioCam.
