Some of these posts make me glad that I have been able to take my dad for a ride in my Boxster, and that he helped me out a little here and there when I was getting Stinky running.

Dad is who started the p-car desire in me. Back in 84, he got stationed at Ramstein AFB in Germany. He bought a 74 911 from another airman... black with a black interior, sunroof, no tail... it was a sweet car. Our neighbor had an 81 pearl white 911SC turbo-look with the huge tail on it...

I remember riding with dad in that car.

Sadly, he sold it just two years later when he got stationed in Naples Italy. He went down there to find us a place to live, and saw how horrible the Italians drove, and decided not to risk a Porsche. He ended up getting a newer Honda (two door accord I think...)... which was wrecked 6 months later. Some guy lost his transmission in front of dad, who didn't have time to avoid.

Ever since, I've always had it in the back of my mind to get a Porsche. Now I have two!
