FM modlulators are horrible, almost as bad as those old casette-CD player car kits...
I got the alternator whine because it wasn't hard wired correctly,
not because it was using the rear aux jack. I simply unplugged the hardwiring and went back to the cigarette lighter. No more whine. The Becker jack was like only $25 if I recall...

But It's kind of messy in my car because I have a two prong cigarette lighter adapter that I picked up at Radio Shack for the V1 and Sirius. Those look terrible but I have no feedback or alternator whine. I'll have to take it in to an audio shop for a proper install.
