I had heard some numbers tossed around in this forum, but I was just looking at crate motors online and saw that (at least at this site), a 2.7 for an ’05 987 goes for $21k! I am assuming that does not include shipping or installation.

That is significantly more than I thought it would cost to swap out my engine. Granted, I am looking to get several more years of driving out of this car before this needs to be done, but is this really the cost I am looking at in another 5 years if I keep this car (I put a lot of miles on my car)? For some reason, I had it in my head that I could drop a 3.2 in there and drive out at only around $15k including labor, tax and everything.
