B&M shifter for sale
Hey guys I have shifter looking for a home. I bought it a couple years ago, drove the car for a day then took it off because I didn't care for the shift feel. I still have the instructions and the box HOWEVER, (and this is a big however) this will not come with any bushings. I now have the B&M bushings on my car because the old ones had to be broken during the install. Make me any reasonable offer and you can have a B&M for a fraction of the cost of new. This thing is like new and it just needs some bushings to go along with it....or it could make a nice wall ornament because it is beautifully crafted it Here are some pics

I should also note that besides the bushings the buyer will need two circlips or C-clips to hold those bushings in place. Those can probably be found for .99 cents at the hardware store. Other than that, everything is there.

Would this work on a 5spd? If it does, would you take $150 w/ shipping? Thanx

This is still for sale if anybody is interested. The first $60 offer takes it. That's my bottom line price. $60 out the door for a genuine B&M. I'll ship fed-ex ground to anywhere in the states.

Don't you think the buyer deserves to know that infomation? You put it up there like it's ready to install out of the box. I think thats shady.

I wasn't talking about here I said your E-Bay listing. Don't you think the bidder would like to know there are no bushings or clips? I would think so. You pawn it off like it ready to go out of the box and misrepresenting the product. If they read this thread they will know? LOL, you have to be kidding me. Yeah, I'm sure every EBAY user looking at your shifter has this thread bookmarked and is a 986 Forum member . On top of that you post your shifter for sale in my thread with a link to your e-bay action no less. Obviously forum etiquette and integrity is not your strong suit. If you want to sell your shifter go do it in your own thread instead of jacking mine.
BlackKatt, I cleaned it out so send me a PM if you would like. Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware that it was filled up.

Agreed with Adam. That is a seriously shady eBay listing. You make no mention of the missing parts whatsoever.
You really should revise your listing to let people know you can't install the shifter you're selling unless they buy extra parts!

Yeah...imagine someone getting all excited of installing the new B&M they just won from Ebay, pulling out the whole center console only to determine at the last minute that it can't be installed because there are parts missing. Should at least indicate that you need to buy two additional parts to complete the installation, imo.

I'm not trying to be shady, I just want to get rid of it at this point. I will refund the person thier money again if needed. But the shifter can be installed if they do enough research on what is involved.

So because someone on eBay screwed you, you're going to screw someone else?
Yes, you are being shady. That shifter is worthless without the bushings. B+M won't sell you just the bushing (I tried), so your other option is to pony up $100 for the Evo bushings - or make your own.
Good to know what kind of people we have on this board.

Again, I'm not trying to be shady, I know people are smart enough to figure out the shifter CAN be installed with the stock bushings. You can't cut them out, you have to re-use them along with the stock "c" clips. It does work with the stock parts, you just have to use your head when installing the shifter.
|
The difference is I said there were parts missing. Your ebay listing made no reference what so ever to missing parts and was misleading. If the shifter is so easy to install with the stock parts why didn't you install it?

LOL, nice one Tool Pants. Hey, you've probably done a couple hundred of these B&M installs. Do you think the B&M shifter can be used with the stock bushings? Have you seen or heard of it done before? Can the old shifter be removed without breaking the stock bushings?

Yes, but Adam clearly stated that his shifter was missing parts! If you just stated that in your ad I doubt anybody would be complaining.
Nobody sells the bushings by themselves. Call up B+M and ask them yourself, they will not sell you just the bushings. You cannot get stock bushings from Porsche. You are correct that if you're careful you can remove the stock bushings without destroying them, but it's misleading to not tell your potential buyers that you're expecting that of them.
I had to make my own bushings for exactly this reason!

Porsche does not sell the oem bushings.
At our work on cars days I have tried several times to remove the oem bushings without having to break the tabs off, so that the bushings could be reused if need be. Was not able to do it.
But I saw this on ebay and it looks like someone got them out.
