In Northern California they're selling for 2-3x that much, and sell quickly. I've seen a few come up on craigslist but have been unable to get one so far.

Yeah...If they are in good condition you can expect to pay around 2k CAD. around here.
I bought my first one for $1850.00 CAD. Had to drive 5 hours round trip and then payed another $800.00 to get it painted + I had to buy the spinlocks & bolts from sun'coast.
