Covers for early model front /rear trunk levers

Does anyone have any experience using something like this?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hood-and-Trunk-Release-Lever-Scratch-Cover-Protector-fits-Porsche-996-986/133346935215?hash=item1f0c18c1af:g:zKgAAMXQQJBQ7N5 g

Looks like it might be a cheap and cheerful solution for those of us with scratched levers.

No affiliation whatsoever with the seller, but if you check his other auctions at the above link, you can see an assortment of other similar 986 interior products.

Thanks - DM

My levers are scratched, but mine are the "soft-touch" that's used so ineffectively throughout the interiors. I can't imagine that vinyl application is going to adhere well to that?

Are you confusing the later model black electric push buttons with the earlier model pull levers?

I've never seen any of these earlier levers in a finish other than silver.

My 98 has black levers. Manual levers.

Huh - I'd never seen black levers before. Perhaps the silver levers are just an 'S' thing?

Nevertheless, has anyone ever tried this sort of peel-and-stick lever cover idea before? Black or silver, these early manual levers are easily scratched.

Plus, there's lots of other similar inexpensive interior cover-up doo-dads in this seller's eBay store, too.

There was someone here years ago that tried the vinyl stickers. They don’t hold up.

My black manual levers are not scratched. Maybe the silver paint is inferior.

I've had mine on the silver handles for at least four years. The front pull overlay is starting to come loose where I drag my foot, but still looks much better than the original finish. Two sets came with my purchase.
