On the bright side it seems that even including shipping most of the parts still went for about 1-2 cents on the dollar verse normal salvage prices. A door sold for $4.

Hi, I am knew to the forum...thanks for having me. I live about 6 1/2 hours from Chevy Chase, MD where the auction occured. I purchased hundreds of parts including doors, rims, latches, dashboards, most everything I could imagine but steered clear of many of the mechanical parts (I still got my share). I purchased the parts for the charitable organization I run for kids who have autism to resell and raise funds (Burgeon Academy on Facebook). Now, I have to get everything to SC. My preference is to sell the whole lot. From my guess-timate, low ball would be $8-12k resale for all of it. I would like to offer the whole lot for $5,000. Let me know if interested as soon as possible. The difference in what I paid and the $5,000 will kick start Burgeon and we need it. The invoice is attached in 4 parts. Willing to bet this "stuff" is worth a lot more than I guess-timate (and maybe not...but then again..).

Unfortunately you may have a bunch of parts that will take a long time to sell and not anywhere as valuable as you think

I agree, there are also people on here selling parts way under salvage prices so you might be struggling, considering a lot of those parts are considered slow moving,
you would be better off offering them on ebay a much less rate than the others and they will get snapped up, ebay is more trusted than EBTH,

To add onto what the last two have said, I'd start off with adds on craigslist and then what doesn't sell on there put on Ebay. Not to burst your bubble but there's a lot of stuff on these cars that really don't sell. Some stuff you're better off bringing to a scrapyard.

+1 to what the others said.
That would be really cool to spend ~$1,000 and make $5,000 in a day.
I like car parts, but a large lot of dissociated parts takes a lot of work to sort, store, market, and sell. I expect that with time and effort you can make some money, but that $5,000 for all buyer (or even half that) does not exist.

Do some market research, set your prices & have clear shipping costs.
Craigslist, eBay, and classifieds...
List some here on the forum in the Classified section.
