John, Looks like lots of good parts, good photos, and well organized. Nothing I need, but I like to have lots of spare parts.
Will you ship stuff and if so, what are your terms and limitations?
Thanks, and GLWS

Edit: Ok, figured out the shipping. It's all pretty simple, from an individual item display you can enter info for an estimate. EBTH handles the sale and shipping and the individual seller is pretty much out of the loop.

A couple random pics from the page:

...not that I want a lot of competition if I bid.

Yes, the shipping calculator is clearly the shortcoming of that web site. It looks like the shipping estimates changed on a few items when I came back to check on some bids. Without some sort of verification or guarantee on the shipping cost, there's no way to know what a bid will actually cost you.

Figured it out. The shipping calculator is not 'smart'. Probably a simple algorithm based on the dimensions entered for the item. Lots of size errors if you look.
Here's the carpet. Grey carpets are much bigger than black.

Nice selection and I love the easy to browse format! I went ahead and bid on a few items that I can use as track spares. Thanks.

There are some things that I'd buy, but it's too inconvenient and sketchy.
Sorry, but I've never heard of that site and am not going to go out of my way to join. eBay is tried and true.

All I can say is that I'm glad that I got the items for cheap, they added on a hefty packaging fee. I will never bid on items on that site again.

Hey guys,

I bought the set of 4 black door panels. I only want the set that has no airbags. I plan to sell the other set that has the airbags. If you are interested, let me know.

Here is a link to the door panels.

If you don't mind me asking, what item and how much was the fee? There look to be some great deals on there. That's if the seller let them go at that price.

One wheel and a power steering pump. Shipping estimate was around $27 before the bid and after, but they then added on $57 for handling!

parts auction comments

I have forwarded all comments to the auction company. They do have some logistical issues it appears. All sales were no reserve as I said in my post. Large items were for pick up only as stated on the site.

If anyone has any serious issues please contact me directly johnm@pcapotomac.org and I will see what I can work out with the company.

John

I also got screwed on handling. I purchased 2 items, and I thought I would save on shipping. The FAQ on their site mentioned they would combine items thus reduce the shipping cost. My items were about $145 without shipping and handling.I paid an additional ~$75 in shipping and handling. I placed a comment on the check out page stating that they should be transparent about the handling charge. I doubt I will use them again unless I get the items really cheap.

John,

I am happy with my purchase prices, actually bid on a few other items that I let go when it went above my limit. No issue whatsoever there. Just wish I had known about the excessive handling charges from the sales site.

sounds like its lucky I got outbid on everything, didnt know about the added packing charge, no mention of that on the website, I assume the high cost of shipping on the quote included that.

Parts auction shipping tip

If your shipping cost seems out of whack contact customer service and let them know. The company does not have much experience with car parts

john,

I purchased a few things from the sale. I will be picking them up tomorrow. Is there any chance I can pick them up earlier than 2pm?
