WTB Conv. top w frame, glass window 2003, 2004

I want to buy a 2003 or 2004 convertible top with frame to upgrade my 2002 car. I prefer Black or Blue. I'm in New England (but I guess it can be shipped from anywhere in the U.S.).
Please let me know what you've got. Thanks, Tom

You may have a typo in your message. I think you may have meant to ask for a 2003 or 2004 top and frame. A 2005 frame won't fit.

The 1997 - 2002 Glass window tops mentioned here: http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/58621-glass-window-retrofit-top-early-986-a.html are running about $500 on eBay. It still has to be installed on the frame which can cost well over $500 more to have professionally done. If you can manage to do it yourself, it's a good option.
In my case, I bought the whole car, swapped tops, then sold the top-donor car. Swapping the tops was the easiest part of the adventure.

Buying a new glass top from eBay doesn't require a new frame. The fitment on those are horrible.

Right. I didn't mean to imply that it required a new frame. It does have to be installed on whatever frame you intend to use, presumably your old frame, and that will cost about $700 to have professional done. Wayne has an excellent tech article on how to install it yourself: Porsche Boxster Glass Window Convertible Top Installation - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article
I have swapped an engine and installed two IMS bearings and I cringe at the though of installing a top on the frame.
My point is that you can buy a good quality new top (on or off eBay) that will fit the 97-02 frame, rather than buying a 12+ year old top from an 03-04, but it will not be any cheaper unless you do the install yourself.

Mine has no problems with fitment. It was supplied by the installer, but I think it is the same top that is available from the eBay vendors.
