As luck would have it, EBay just sent me a costumer appreciation coupon redeemable for 20$ off a single purchase. So I picked up a new center console cup holder for $29 including shipping.

I have one of these. Works pretty good. I need to figure out a way to keep the lid in the upright position though.

Where does one keep their gun and registration if that is now a cup holder?

I would think the door pocket would work well for that.

I thought I would keep registration/insurance card sandwiched in between the bottom of the cup holder and bottom of the console.

My Boxster is a 2000 so I can use the owners manual holder below the steering wheel.

Glad I don't live in North Alabama. Even if I carried a gun I would not once ever have needed to use it in 55+ years. Do you need a reason, or do you just tell the cops "That yeller sumbiotch needed killin" and everyone is good with that?

I had that cup holder, hated it. I have a pair of Ultmate cup holders now and they completely satisfy the OPR.

Well when you hit two Deer at 1:00 AM and it breaks their backs you have to put them out of their misery...our crime rate is super low....I leave the keys in my car most times at home

Oh, that's what you meant. I took it to mean you were defending yourself against miscreants. Sorry!

Wasn't there an option for a roll bar gun rack on these things? Maybe that's only for the "Texas Edition" boxsters

Looks like my critically important thread on cup holders and rubber inserts has been hijacked....but you have a gun and I don't so please continue.
