Hey Woody,
I have an 03S. I need prices on:
1. The black bracket that holds the passenger side intake vent on.
2. a shifter assembly
3. The little black tab that locks the harness in place on the back of the gauge cluster.
Let me know shipping to 95112.
Thanks.

Thanks for checking Woody...I started that thread looking for one, I was trying to avoid spending $150+ for the part, but I guess i might be going that route after all.

Try Sunset Porsche. I just bought this exact piece for $109 and the two vent grill caps (996-572-570-01-01 and 996-572-569-01-01) for $0.71 each. This piece is exposed to the environment and just fades and gets brittle with time so you are better off with the new piece. After replacing the windshield one of the screw holes broke and I could not repair it. At least it will look like new!

I usually have at least one in stock but I've been hit hard on those lately. I also ran into a batch of bad ones. FYI, they're not side specific but you should double check the low and high speed work before you go through the hassle of installing one. It's very easy to do with a battery charger or even jumper cables. I think the black wire is the ground and the white and green are for the slow and fast fan. Slow is usually the one that goes out first and the problem 90% of the time is a burnt out resistor. There's a thread out there where someone replaced just the resistor.

Do you have a wheel hub? Maybe you have a hub in a knuckle with a bearing as well. Let me know. It is for a 98 boxster. Thanks!

I don't have any good 2001-04 sending unit's. The plastic on the 01-04 seems to get brittle faster than the 97-00 units because I have tons of those. Sorry.
I do have top relay's for $20 shipped.
I don't have a AOS you would want to buy. Those are something you would normally want to buy new. Hard to judge the age of a used AOS, so it's better to assume it's old.

Woody, as one of the resident forum experts on the differences between various 986 models, is there any reason the black hood cowl trim piece (just below windshield) from an early model 97-2000 couldn't be fitted to a later 2001-2004 model.
I ask b/c you commented on the increased longevity of the earlier version.
I have already replaced the one on my 2001 once, and at 2 yrs age it is already faded terribly, and never seemed to lie perfectly flat anyway.

Sorry -- I should have clarified -- looking for left rear if you have it. Any rough guess on shipping? I'm in MN.

Jake; Woody's competitor (Quality Porsche Parts) has a couple on eBay. I thought about buying one just to have a spare.

I found one on eBay from a trusted seller brand new with a return policy and free shipping that I'll probably order tomorrow.
The fan went weird and started rumbling when on about 3 months ago. due to it being the dead of winter I just kept the AC off between now and then but now it's getting a little hot so I finally opened things up to see what's wrong. Anyways should be fixed soon.

That doesn't sound like a resistor problem to me. Maybe the motor going out? That's good in a way because you can salvage the relay from it before you chuck it. You'll need it in the future. Test the fan once you get it out and see what happens. Also post a pic of the relay.

Yes transmissions, pivot links, cables, mounting studs, relay, basically everything but the motor, and top.
i pickded up a good 03/04 in Hersey last weekend, but i have run into the old A version B pillar micro switch problem of not being able to trip it with the newer top. It looks like the best course of action is updating my drive system to the newer version in the 2000-04 cars, anything you have and if you ship to Canada
