Not a myth...
two boxster in my neighborhood and both are on the second engine. What bothers me is that I got the 2005 + replacement engine that was supposed to be the "fix".
Now that 2005s are failing...yikes.

Poor bearing failure... I still can't believe it that they kept the same design!
