Airbag deactivation device wanted

Hi,

I'm looking for airbag deactivation device. I talked to dealership an dthey quoted me for 250$ so I decided to look somewhere else

If anyone has one that you're willing to sell, I'd like to buy it from you.
Also Dealership didn't want to discuss how much it will be to enable it if I buy it from someone else.. anyone has any experiences on how much usually they charge for that?

Thanks
Sasha

I have one out of a 2002. $25.00 Shipped. Wait, you said deactivation. I'm not sure what that is. I have the sensor that activates the airbag. You can send a pic to BTACL@aol.com and I will look for it.

I'm not sure if it's ame or not..

Airbag Deactivation device is a bar that you mount under your passenger seat. When you install carseat, you just plug it in the bar.. and Airbag should be deactivated..

I still wonder why they didn't do a button for that?

Thanks
Sasha

i'd sell mine, but none of the local dealers will recode the airbag controller back to stock so the light won't come on...

Thanks Dave, but I already got one!

Dealer wanted 200$ to activate, I called a local shop that prepares Porsches for racing and they didn't know how to do it.

In the end they did it for free in exchange for printed instructions

Thanks
Sasha

Dave, print out these instructions, and tell your dealer that on the second page, it specifically tells you how to disable the function if you want it uninstalled. If Porsche's own instructions indicate the feature can be reversed, then they should be able to reverse it for you.

thanks BB. the problem isn't that they don't know how, the problem is that they just flat refuse to do it.

of course it's typical "we don't really know anything about cars" service writers refusing to do it. "we don't mess with safety systems".

thanks for the PDF though, maybe i can get another shop to do it.

That stinks, but I'm sure any independent Porsche shop with a PST2 system tester can do this for you too. Maybe not worth the effort if you don't mind keeping it installed in your car, but I'm sure someone can uninstall it for you.

There was a local Porsche owner here in the Northeast who privately owned a PST2, and he actually activated it for me for free, but he's since moved to London.
