The solution for the pedal that is metal (can't remember if it is the clutch or brake) is to drill a pilot hole with a very small bit. That bit will be FAR easier to get through the pedal, and when you place the drill bit that is the size you need over it, the bit will naturally migrate to the pilot hole, and it will help hold it in place, otherwise the bit rolls all over the pedal - very annoying.
