If the light stays on, it usually means the top did not finish a down cycle or up cycle.

If the top is up, go ahead and put it completely down. Hold the switch until it stops on it's own. If you let it go before it stops, the indicator will stay on. Then put the top up, again, holding the button until it stops completely on it's own. Then latch it shut.

The light should go out.
