Hi Kelly,
It's a very firm push, don't be afraid to push it. If you break it, I understand they are reasonably cheap from Porsche if you have a dealer near you. And the snorkel itself requires a very hard pull to get it out, but once it lets go, it comes out quick, that's why I cut my wrist. Don't finesse the blind or the snorkel, and you should be fine.
