There are a number of 12-volt inflators out there ranging from good - $, to Better - $$, to Best - $$$.
If you do a lot of auto-X you'll want the Best or a portable Air Bottle -

But, for beginners, and those not wanting to make a big investment, you can simply use one of the Cheapies like those listed here:
