I went to the one in Steamboat Springs, CO, about 10 yrs ago. Not as an entrant, just drove up from Denver for a day and went to the car show/concours. Lots of really nice Porsches (duh), and several from the Porsche museum. Steamboat is a small town, and you still had to take shuttle buses to the various event venues from the parking areas, or figure on hiking a lot.
I'd say it's worth a few hours drive, but I don't think I'd drive half way across the country to it, unless I had entered and was going to take part in several of the events.
racer_d brings up a point that has been a bone of contention amonst PCA members for a while, i.e., it seems to have been EXTREMELY difficult for a grunt PCA member to get an entry. The event fills up immediately when registration opens, and some folks claimed even beforehand, thereby raising the suspicion that some members were more equal than others in terms to getting Parade entries.
Presumably some things have been done to address that, but we'll see.
Next year is going to be in So. Carolina, I believe, and the year after that ('09) it will be in Colorado again. That one I will be going to.
