If it's any kind of "goop" we're talking about, I'd definitely advise against it. I believe the dealers usually sell this for its sound-deadening properties. It won't be the best choice against corrosion because a breach in the surface will actually trap moisture- only to begin the process. I speak from expereince, unfortunately.
