I'd ask them to hook it up to a PST tool (fancy Porsche OBC reader) and show you (not tell you) how many stage one and stage two redlines the engine has endured during testing or local dealership moves around the lot or on test drives (if any exist) so you know what you are starting with.

It's CYA for sure, but I would do it if I were buying a brand new Pcar... who knows how the few miles that have been put on the car have been put on the car (hope that makes sense).

This way, you can document any redlining recorded so that if you have any warranty claims on the engine, you can tell them with great assurance that those particular over-revs were their doing, not yours.

They'll surely think you are wierd asking for this, but it won't take more than five minutes and you can drive off knowing your car's engine hasn't been thrashed in the first 25 miles of its lifespan.
