mikedivincent, if you decided to take on this task and go shopping for a floor jack. Make sure you purchase one that compresses below 4 inches. Not all floor jacks will compress this low. The one I purchased will compress to 3 ½ inches and it works great. The racing floor jacks like RandallNeighbour mention usually compress low enough to fix under the Boxster.
