The airbag light always comes on at first (as do many other lights) so that's not really an indicator of your problem. What is a good indicator is that it does eventually start which says it's more likely to be the switch then your starter.
If you can't find the switch posts - hopefully someone will pitch in and give you the part numbers (etc) needed to fix this.
