Took us about 3 hours to do the entire 30k service, including plug change, oil change, belt inspection, and so on on Aileen's 2000 2.7 Boxster. The reason it took so long was we filmed it and then it started to rain.

The Boxster people had a contest with the 996 people to see who could do the 30k service faster on both models. The Boxster won.

Of course the 996 people said we cheated because they did not have an umbrella (so we gave them one), was a little slow in giving them the tools, or gave them the wrong tools.

All fun aside, it is easy to change the plugs on a Boxster. A 996 is a pain because the engine is backwards and the exhaust manifold is right up against where the plugs are so there very little clearance for a spark plug wrench. And you have to do it from under the car. Not an issue with the Boxster as we remove the rear wheels and there are the plugs in you face.
