Progress is being made. Yesterday, the adapters for the steering rack turned up:
So these adapters go from the steering rack to metric 10L on pressure side and 12L on the return side. This morning I checked fitment. They fit inside the rack. I am able to wiggle them a bit more than the originals, so they appear slightly thinner, but in the end it is the O-ring with backup ring that should seal. No doubts on the return, hopefully the pressure line will be fine as well.
