My car came with a dansk muffler and the inside rotted and rattled. I had a local muffler shop open it up and see what was going on inside. I replaced it with a 986.2 muffler in good condition off of eBay. Supposedly the 986.2 muffler sounds a little different than the 986.1 version. But I cants say dmfor sure.

I agree that the fister mod is a bit much considering it’s still a used muffler at the end of the day.

I would try to find a used muffler and see if you can have a shop perform the fister mod, or internal fister mod(try searching for it here on the forums).
